Birthday weekend, in words
Friday I played hockey with my regular adult league team. Good game. Won 4-2. Everyone’s happy. Went out with a couple buddies afterwards, drank a few beers.
Saturday I cleaned ice at Archwood in the early afternoon to get ready for a shinny game I organized for 6pm. Probably the best shinny game I’ve played in a few years. Fourteen skaters and two goalies. Fast paced, but plenty of room to move the puck well. Went out with buddies afterwards to the Legion. Hit an after-party. Played a good support role for the boys, a wingman of sorts.
Sunday I cleaned ice in preparation for a game at 3pm. Almost no one showed. Went to West Broadway to catch a quick game where the ice was shiiiiit. Went back to Archwood to float around and shoot pucks with my good buddy Ed. Went for dinner with Ed. Watched the most slowest boringest shit on TV, I think they call them the Oscars. Hit a late night game with a team I spare with that I think I might join full-time. We lost pretty bad. Didn’t care ‘cause everyone in that dressing room is good shit and loves beer. Drank a couple in the parking lot, then suddenly it’s my Birthday. Cool.
I enjoy celebrating my life by doing stuff I like. I like hockey. February is a good time to play hockey in Canada, therefore February was a good time for me to be born.
