Last night, half our team didn’t show up to play. Forwards didn’t move their fucking feet. Standing still on the breakout, standing still in the neutral zone, standing still the whole fucking game. Soft chips trynna get outta the zone, soft chips trynna get it in the zone. A bunch of fucking pushovers. No one got mad when we went down a couple goals. These are not new symptoms, either. BUT THEY HAPPENED IN THE FINALS AND WE GOT BEAT 7-2

Ya know, it wouldn’t hurt as bad if we were a fucking beer league team that actually drank beer. But no, I was the idiot who agreed to play with a team that originated with mostly church cunts. Don’t get me started with all the cases my d-partner and I bought. Basically: if we don’t show up with beer, we don’t get to drink beer. If we do show up with beer, everyone drinks it and they never return the favour.

This was my last season with them, my last game. It perfectly sums it up. Good season followed with another crushing loss in the playoffs. I’ll miss a handful or so of solid dudes from the team, but I’m not gonna miss the aura that surrounds the team.

Thank god I’ve got a second team. Rock solid group of dudes. Beers before and after the game. The hockey is better, too. I’m glad I get to say goodbye to the Winnipeg beer league circuit with them.

I made this for Grantland. It’s an Illmatic Influence Infographic. I made it because Saturday is the 20th anniversary of Illmatic, if you can even believe that. It shows the names and number of songs that have sampled each particular track from Illmatic. It’s thorough. I think if you click on it it’ll get bigger. You can read about the methodology and whatnot here, where they definitely have a big version of it. Listen to this while you peruse the chart.
Bun B’s Rap Coloring and Activity Book is in stores now. Please go buy one. It’s the… wait for it… waaaiiiit… not quite… aaaaaand… malibooyah! It’s the ill thing to do. Thank you, thank you.

I’ve been juicing (fruit and veggies kind) for a week now, and I’ve learned a few tricks. The best: add lemon and whatever concoction you’ve made will be tolerable.

Our creative director is having a midlife crisis. He has taken to wearing white jeans and alludes to a fictional past of dissolution and substance abuse, as if we don’t all know he creates ads with talking babies.

Here’s a great example of the kinds of deregulation being pushed through by assholes like Christie Clark and her neoliberal cronies.
